Last year, I somehow lost my Civ II CD. I've had that same CD since 1996 when I bought it as a kid. Does anyone know where to find a replacement? I've been looking on amazon and such places, but all I can find are ToT or MGE versions.
AFAIK its above board but make up your own mind. All I can say is that I have been using it for several months and it works fine. It also works without the CD!
Apologies! I do not endorse piracy and if the link I posted is considered piracy then I was in the wrong. My only justification is that I'm sure they are no longer making or selling CivII. They lost the source code after all! I for one have owned at least four copies of CivII in the past (Original x2, FW and ToT) so they have had their money from me. I have not seen a copy of the game in a shop bargain bin for a number of years now. When would it become abandon-ware?
EDIT: And isn't there a No-CD crack download in the old Download database here!?!
EDIT 2: Can't find it but I'm positive it used to be on there before all the changes. That doesn't make me right, but it does make me feel a bit better
Ebay is probably your best shot at finding the original 1996 copy of the game, although I'd imagine it's filled with mainly the MGE version. You should try checking out Amazon as well, but be careful with Amazon - sometimes the sellers they have will send you the MGE version when you really wanted the original one.
