Which civilization do you hate and like the most?

I play only as the English so far as I'm a proud patriot.

Have to say the two most annoying civ's for me are Mansa Musa and Cyrus.

Not because they ever attack me, on the contrary they are usually my only allies.

Trouble is they are the most annoying useless allies you can possibly have.

Musa is constantly asking me for freebies, and completely unwilling to trade anything I want from him ever.

Cyrus was my defensive pact partner and closest ally, at about +18 in one game.

He refused his obligations to come to my aid, (ok I may have started the war!) but it was against Julius Ceasar who had been threatening him for the whole game.

He also refused to give me rocketry, despite me offering him two techs and 5000 gold.

Then when I got the technology that allows you to build the space elevator he offered me 80 gold for it

I said no and he closed all of our trade deals, petty little bastad!

Next game, if he's on the map my sole objective will be the absolute destruction of his civilisation.

I hate Montezuma. We always get bad relations, even with religion, and go to war. I've gotten use to killing him early-game if I can find him now.

I love Ashoka or Gandhi. Always so willing to be friends, even if we have different religions...If we have the same, its even better :)

Yeah, Cyrus is a REAL pain in the behind for me :)

Last game I played, He went to war with Germany, so he wants me to help him out, I accept, I go over there and take down berlin and a few other cities that Frederick made, Then, all of the sudden Frederick and Cyrus become allies and take my army of SAM infranties out  after that, they come in and try to take out my south line of defense (Or as I like to call it, Death to all! city :) )

Anyway, they failed, so I ask isabella for help to take down Cyrus the betrayer, she doesn't accept and then GOES TO WAR ON ME! Damn, cyrus is a real sweettalker  So my only ally is Qui Han (Japanese Civ I think?) he's all the way on the other side of the map, it takes him 10 years (civ time) to get to germany (Germany is right next to me) and then while he's attacking germany, Cyrus wants to become allies with me, I declined. And Qui & I go over and take out germany, I take 50% of it's cities and Qui takes the other 50%, then I want him to help me take out cyrus. But he doesn't He stays and builds around the remains of Germany and makes half of my share REVOLT TO HIM

Nexttime I'm only allying with the Aztecs!

I play on random personalities anymore for the most part. But my listing is:

Hate
1. Mansa (even on Random Personalities this guy tends to always be in my way)
2. England (Both women run a close second to Mansa even on RP)
3. Catherine (She is always pushing my buttons on her strategy. Not to mention she is a cheap hussy.)

Like
1. Ghandi (Even though he can be a warmonger on RP, I usually find myself able to make deals with him.
2. Tokugawa (Valuable ally to have in the medeival ages -when my first expansion usually starts-)
3. Monty (In no RP he is very easy to talk into declaring war on someone. DANCE PUPPET!)

Hatty, as she has a habit of plonking down a city 3 squares from mine leaving it virtually undefended and building nothing but cultural stuff in it...in fact any of them who build a city 3 tiles from an already existing city I class as an act of war...oh what the hell I hate all of them :)

Nothing but blood & pillage to hatty I always say

I like...

Montezuma.. once I learned how to deal with him. He's such a weakling if you manage to survive to Bronze/Iron Working. Generally for me, Montezuma = free land for me later. :nuke:

Hatshepsut. As of my current game, Hatty has never declared war on me. I love to see her as my neighbor. Generally easy to take over like Monty. If I'm not going for conquest, she's a good friend.

Asoka. No matter what I do to him, he never goes to war. Generally easy to get along with.

I hate...

Tokugawa. Such an irritant. Makes moronic demands, refuses to trade, refuses to even open borders, yet will open them for his ally who uses his lands to attack me. Fortunately, he's rarely a late-game threat.

Napoleon. Jerk. Example, my last game saw Napoleon and I allied against Tokugawa. Some 10 turns into the war he declares peace with Tokugawa, then declares war on ME? Sadly, this is pretty much an every-game occurance with Napoleon. What separates him and Monty is that Napoleon can actually run a war.

Mao. From my experience, he is about the best Civ around at running a war.

Washington. My greatest rival on Civ IV. If he survives the early game, he is always my #1 threat to losing the game.

I like Cyrus, so long as I'm friendly with him. Hatsheput is usually okay, and Roosevelt usually gives me free stuff, even on noble! Julius Ceasar can go either way. and Qin Shi Huang can go either way as well. I don't like Isabella, Monty, Capac, or Toku.

Yeah, my strat when Roosevelt is on the field:

Milk all his technologies then attack!

Like: Mongols, Germans, Persia
Dislike: Russia, England, Spain

I like
Gandhi (peaceful and helpful)
Asoka (peaceful)
Montezuma (great war partner if you keep him happy)

I hate
Isabella (she always tends to found Buddhism, and I Hinduism. So we can't be friends)
Napoleon (not willing to help at wartime, boring, always asking for something, backstabbing and industrious)
Mansa Musa (he always gets a nice, little, wealthy empire and wins Space race victory because he's way ahead in technology - but still, the best permanent ally)
Catherine (backstabber and her temper is annoying. One moment she's as happy as a little princess getting a pony horse if you give her "help" or "tribute", but in a few turns, she's cautious about you, and then annoyed)

Catherine seems obsessed with turning great relationships into war. Every game she gets into this pattern of demanding something every turn, so no matter how high your positive points, she'll eventually whittle it away and declare war.

Monty just always seems annoyed.

I hate Napoleon. My empire is twice as big, with a way more advanced military which is larger, and he stabs me for no reason! I dont talk to him for 100 turns, all the while he remains cautios or friendly, and he declares war on me for no reason! Well, not my problems when France becomes a nuclear wasteland. :nuke: :nuke: :nuke:

I hate -
Mansa Musa: seem to always fare well in respect to territory, wealth, culture, military, religion, and technological advance. Rating: 4/5
Montezuma: crazy warmonger. = 3/5
Isabella: always asking you for freebies or try to change your religion. = 3/5

The best leaders to deal with: Asoka, Gandhi, Washington, Genghis Khan, Louis.

Being English, I obviously have a soft spot for them, preferrably with Elizabeth as leader.

Other than that, I like Russia simply because IMHO Catherine has undeniably the best trait combo for practically all victory types. Plus Cossacks are among the best UU (behind only Praets IMO).
