Which one is right?

I asked a question about saving and continuing a mutli player games and I got 2 answers. One was " yes you can continue MP games with other players " and the other was " No you cannot continue without the original players ".

So... which one is the truth? Im confused

1st, but you need another person joining and leaving immediately to launch game if you miss any original person

Does this work if you're not the host? Or is this only true if you're the original host?

The Save has to be your save of the game as far as I have experienced.
