I have taken Havanna and installed a dutch governor. After that, I met 3 or 4 invasion forces of the Spanish heading for Havana. If I hadn't captured them, the city would be spanish again. What do you mean "this city will never change nationality"?
Gah, I forgot to say the end. What I mean is without your heplp in crippling the local forces, it will never change hands.. Cities with 500 troops or more will not fall to an invasion force. Unless of course you rouse all the pirates and indians in the area ( if there is a lot of them ) and then hope for an invasions force. Of course, that is with your help. Also since Cartegena/Havana usually have 650 or more troops, no Invasion Force will take THESE forts.

I always pick the British. They're usually in a fun position ( a few cities, but not too many, but not too few, either, and spread throughout the map), and you get a Brigantine, which fits my style better than a sloop or galleon.
And, of course, because they have the best city music! Kudos if you can name it.
