Which Victory Condition will you choose?

I don't think I understand all the mechanics well enough yet to making any strategies yet. I'll just turn them all on and do my best with what I have.

BTW I assume that Civ V will allow the player to play over the time limit, is that true ?

Otherwise I won't buy Civ V, of course

Much like in Civ IV, I think it quite likely that I will start out with the notion that I will win a cultural victory, but with all options set to on, it's quite likely that I'll either win another way, or start a new game after I've played that one enough.

It's actually very rare for me to play all the way through Civ IV and win, in general I get bored silly and on my next play will end up starting a new game. I guess I must find it more enjoyable at the start of the game than I do in the middle or end.

@ Gunter, im assuming that the alternate conquest victory below represents the time victory condition. I'm sure there is the continue playing option.. Don't rage quit just yet!

Well, I will most probably disable cultural and science (space ship) victory.
Why? I normally play multiplayer and these both things are victories you can hardly stop.
While the game is over when the conquer victory/domination victory takes place anyways and the diplomatic (city state) Victory is also something you could stop by just destroying maybe 2 city states, cultural and science will always go forward, just slower. I welcome the science vitory change though that the space ship parts have to be brought together.

Has one not paid attention. In Civ5 you can interrupt special units which carry parts of the spaceship.

I concur with "just see what happens"-

I suppose I'll let all victory conditions on. Seeing as I'll be playing on Settler in my first game (for the achievement), I should be able to win the game easily anyway :D

science/space victory (or whatever it's called in this game). To keep with my tradition of civ2.

Usually my second game I go for conquest/domination type victories.

Leaving everything on here, but I will smash anyone who tries to get in my way. :king:

Everything on. In Civ4 I never really could pull of a Diplomatic victory. Lets see how that goes now. Almost everytime space ship or cultural victory, with a few wars in between.

For wilebill the eternal noob and village idiot, the question is which losing condition will I choose. Though it doesn't matter much, it will only be a question of who and how.

Definitely leave all victory conditions on, but I'll go for a space race win until I pull it off. Nothing like sending the Roman Empire into space. Then I'll move on to something else.

Well, I wrote this 3 lines after the two ones you quoted. :P

It will probably hardly be possible to stop it anyways (at a late stage). But as I said, it's a good change nevertheless.
