Who has better horses?

Who is the best horseman

I read this book a few years ago called "What If?" It's a collection of stories by various historians and experts about "how things might have been" given different historically significant outcomes, a good read if you're interested. One of them was about the Mongols and wow... that one really sold the horse archer for me. They were basically medieval tanks; fast, powerful and accurate, they could literally ride circles around their enemies and pierce armor with their bows and arrows, all without ever coming close to mortal danger (from pikes, or other civilizations' puny non-composite bows). Playing the Mongols in Civ V feels like that.

Plus it's really cool to use tactics like that to take down civ after civ in constant warfare. Love it.

For the pure horsemen rush I voted greece. But I do think the Mongols in the long run has the better UU here. Keshiks is wonderful to use, speeds up an invasion quite alot with a ranged, very moveable unit that'll not take much damage as you can retreat it between attacks. With the quick promotions it's easy to have a very highly promoted army of Keshiks which will be useful quite some time after the normal Knight has lost it's use.

The 2 UUs are 30+ turns apart...and that's if you use early RAs get them about T80+
so not too sure what's the point comparing them, since the war-prep strategy is vastly different.

If we are talking about Chiv, Mandakalu Cav should be in the mix as well...
Only needing 2 units to take a city, leave the city and let AI retake that one, and repeat.
Soon enough, AI will exhaust all the milt unit, and peace talk = everything they have.
All this while allowing SP to be spend other than Honor.

I want to compare not the keshish but the Khan vrs. the CC. Who is better suited for an early horseman rush or which one is better to dominate an entire continent as early as possible. I usually dominate my continent before i get to the Medieval era so the keshish aren't much help but the Khan is a beast just because it can keep up with the horsemen.
