Who here has/will/or is majoring in History?

I'll be double majoring in History and Biology if I pass out of classes with AP scores. I'll be aiming towards Medieval History or Military History.

I will proably minor in history but for me thats awhile from now,

I'm majoring in history while planning to minor in English; for whatever reason they seem to go in sync with my competence. Math, on the other hand, ugh. Also, me be plan to be teacher high

What are majors and minors? Are they university lingo? In australia they have degrees.

At US universities, the subject that one studies for one's
degree is called a major. A minor is a secondary subject
pursued during study that appears on the the degree. But some univerisities/university departments don't allow them.

I majored in History.
In France, ancient history is not part of classics but of history too, not that it concerns me a lot as I focused mostly on "modern times" history (1492 - 1789) but I had to study some Greek and Roman history too.
Since I was studying Chinese in another university at the same time, I learnt some Chinese history too.

I would like to have taken a combined course in Latin / Ancient History but that course is not offered at Cambridge, so I went for Classics instead. It contains some Ancient History, but I do agree that it's not really enough. Oh well, there's always the Herodoteans Society!
