Playing my first game and keep running into the same 3 problems -
1- can't attack something one turn but can the next.
2- can't get troops to move at times or to move where it shows they should be able to move.
3- can't buy tiles. I click on buy tiles and it shows where the next expansion and how many turns to get there but can't buy the tile I would like. The tile I am trying to buy is connected to city.

Click on a tile's price to buy it, not on the tile itself.

The other two I really can't advise on without seeing screenshots of the problem.

Possible explanation for #1: If you have 2 units in the same tile (say you have a unit in a city and build a new unit), you MUST move either of them out of the shared tile before either of them can attack.

Tks - appreciate it. Figured the tile out. :)

As for the other two, still don't understand about not being able to move or attack. Twice last night, even when I click on the arrow to show where one can move to the only tile that came up was the one it was sitting on. Next turn it was normal again.

Unlike in past games, you need full movement points to move onto a tile. So if your unit has only 1 move point left, he cannot move onto a hill or forest tile. Next turn his move points get reset, and then he can do the move.

Ah - that makes sense. But when a new turn starts, they should have full points, right?

Yep, certainly sounds like you were trying to move onto a hill or forest. You won't be able to do it with a 2 movement unit that has already moved one hex.

One thing that's confusing at first is that if a unit has movement points left, but can't move to any adjacent tiles, the game prompts you to do something with it, even though it can't move (if you look closely, you can see the "may move to" box within the unit's tile). At that point, if you don't want to queue a go-to command and don't have anything else productive to do (e.g, a promotion or ranged attack), you just have to hit "skip turn." This is especially common with scouts moving through a thick range of hills/forests/jungles without the corresponding promotion.

Tks - What has happened is that the only tile marked as a place to move is the one it is sitting on. This had happened several times with builders.
