Why do i get this error when I install?

The installation of vanilla civ 3 goes to 57% and this comes up

Error:
Component: Program Files
File Group: Program Files
File: E:\data2.cab
Error: Incorrect Function

and installation just stops.


I am using windows xp home edition.

Try cleaning your disk and then trying again - based on previous problems here and their solutions, that is the most common.

my deleted is pretty messed up maybe i should buy a new one..
