All I want to do is play a map of earth that has the civs start in the historically accurate locations. I have gone to the mods and downloaded several maps that say they are maps of the earth and that the civs city states start in their real world locations. I have installed the maps and then when I go to mods and then choose the map to play on I keep getting this game where I have 100 turns to destroy other civs.

Is there any map you can suggest that meets my requirements and can you tell me how to play it?

Thanks.

Perhaps you have another mod activated at the same time. Double check the mod list to make sure only the historical start location mod is activated.

If it is the only one activated, then that's a major bug with the mod. O_O

And if what Putmalk said don't work then go to Documents/My Games/Sid Meier's Civilization 5 & empty the folders 'MODS' & 'ModUserData'. Now run ciV & re-enable the mods you want to run.
