why does it take so long to get costem avaters?
yeh i know it takes 300 posts but why does it have too be so long? i know im whining but by the time i get 300 posts il have left the site!:rant:

Well, because users like you, who leave after less than 300 posts are very numerous (IIRC), and if each of these users had a custom avatar it'd take up a lot of space that would slow down the server. (My logic anyways)

Because then they'd have to provide space for all those avatars. And many people don't even stay. Of the 39,500 registered posters here only about 2% have more than 300 posts.

In fact doing rough guesstimation and math, about 75% of the registered users have never posted. Probably not too far off.

The reward you get for spamming up the place is a restriction on your posting activities.

There have been cases where people have been given post count reductions due to spamming in trying to get to the three hundred.
For a long time, no-one (except Thunderfall) had a custom avatar. I used the same dragon as useless for quite a while....

I think I kept my immortal for a bit longer than the necessary 300 too.

At my current rate (excluding this post) I will post for the 300th time around April 13, 2004 . You (useless), if you continue at the same rate, will have 300 post around January 6. I don't think you should be complaining. :rant:

Well, When I first signed in there were no custom avatars. I was one of the lucky few who is almost to the 300 post line.

It took BTW like 1 and a half years for me to get the 300... But that was because almost forgot this site and I did forget my password for a while...

In which case you wouldn't deserve a custom avatar.

It took me about a month+ to get my custom avatar--but that was around post 550.
