Go ahead...rant away! Why do you think that one particular game is better than that other one? Could it be the plot? The graphics? The heart? The replayability? Eh?

I'll start.

Tropico is better than Caesar. Why?
  • Tropico provides more background on you, the leader. It allows you to pick flaws and skills and a background to help manage your people better.
  • You aren't the absolute power holder in Caesar. Yes, the name decives you. You are not Caesar! You are a puny little governor. I don't know about you, but I like supreme power in my games.
  • Tropico's citizens are like people! They hate or like you based on your decisions and their political standing. And they get individual careers and skills. Caesar's citizens have opinions, but they aren't individuals.
  • Both Tropico and Caesar have cool music and tolerable graphics so I won't touch that.
  • Tropico has families! All the little people get married and have kids! Plus, if you arrest one of the little kids, the mom will be bitter towards you. And likewise for a bribe. ;)
  • Relations with foreign nations is handled much better in Tropico. If you are good to the Communists, you find favor with the Soviets. If you favor the Capitalists, you get support from the United States.
  • Tropico has those awesome political factions. The people all belong to one faction or another. Each faction will have their own requests for you to answer.
  • Tropico has tourism. It's always fun to try to give those whiny Americans the greatest vacation ever!

I enjoy games that you can play your own style. Whether you wanna' play good or evil, is irrelevant because the world is in chaos, its up to the PLAYER to decide on his/her actions..... and be accountable for them in the game by getting penalities/bonuses. I hate games where your *HAVE* to be a "goodie-goodie-two-shoe". I enjoy games where you have the option to play from both moral spectrums(good or evil). Here is a quick list:

Fallout1&2
  • Story - Sci-Fi - Post-Apoctalpictic
  • Abilility to commite vile actions(genocide, talk dirty, drugs, mobs, sex, etc, etc)
  • RPG - Story progress but is determined by your karma
  • Funny - movie & pop culture quotes... lots!
  • Different ending, depending on your good/evil actions

Dues Ex 1
  • Story - Sci-Fi - Pre-Apoctalpictic
  • Sometimes, gives the ability to commite evil actions.....
  • You can play evil... as well as a good character...
  • Funny - Both error and ingame
  • Diffferent ending, it depends on your moral alliances that affects your choice of outcome.

Chess: several different pieces and therefore more complicated gameplay; THE classic intellectual challenge; street cred, yo.

Checkers: more elegant gameplay; all ages.
