So, when running the game in 1920x1200 via the keepres=1 fix, there's two problems...

1: everything in the same is too small

2 (more annoyingly): things like city advisor popups and diplomacy get shoved to the top and upper left-hand corner of the screen, respectively (they don't center like they should). Any way to fix this?

Well, ok... message boxes can be moved. Diplomacy boxes cannot.

Main problem is really the lack of the ability to zoom in >.>

I got used to the small size. I've never tried messing with the video mode setting in the .ini file...I suspect that if you specify a horizontal resolution it's going to squash the picture to 4:3?

If you set Keepres=1, then don't set screen height or width. Also, whatever the resolution of your OS is at the time will be used in the game. So if you have a 22" widescreen monitor and for some reason you are running Windows at 1024x768 and you start Civ3, you will run the game at 1024x768 even though 22" widescreen resolution is 1680x1050. Make sure that you have your screen resolution in Windows set to your monitor's native resolution. You can also disable image scaling to keep lower resolution images from stretching to fill space, and to keep the display from warping 4:3 images into widescreen.

Could it be that you have the game set up so that you start zoomed out when you play? Hit the Z key in-game and see if it zooms you back in, or zooms out even more.
