Will Chalid Astrakein get a new model?

What annoys me is that once you can upgrade to Champions (or any variation thereof) and Rathas, you can no longer build Radiant Guards.

The only solution I've find to this is to simply never get any horse resource, thus being unable to ever build Rathas, but still able to build both Champions and Radiant Guards.

You can have a city/some cities without a barracks, so that you will not be able to build a champion there, but still build Radiant Guards and Rathas. Then just move your RG to a city with a barracks and upgrade.

I just made a new Ratha, placing the Radient Guard on the Chariot. Hope Kael implements it...
Right now I am working on Chalid

So, Chalid is finished as well.
But to tease you.... no screenshot :p

ok ok...

Oh. My. God. That's amazing.
I'd opt to keep the old shield or a Radiant Guard shield, but that is just fine as-is. Absolutley amazing.

I still think it would be cooler if the Chariot portion of the Rathas was based on (civ specific) War Chariots instead. The 2 horse (or other animal) version of the chariot always looked so much cooler.

I'm not sure I like the new Chalid. It is nice looking, but it makes the Empyrean seem even more militant than they did before. I think we should be emphasizing the more peaceful, reconcilatory aspects. Chalid strikes me as an especially pious priest and trusted councilor rather than a holy warrior.

Of course, a little more back story might be able to change my mind. From the looks of the new Chalid, he may very well have been raised among Emrys before repenting and joining with Varn. That could explain his tattoos, like it explained those of the Radiant Guard Captain Mikel. It may also explain his surprisingly large knowledge of the arcane, especially summoning, that you wouldn't expect among a goodly priest but might expect a former follower of Ceridwen to retain and use while working for forgiveness.

(Hmm...I just got to thinking it could be really cool to have a Fall of Cuantine-like scenario where the Emyr Chalid does some things that he comes to regret. A changing the gold to crimson and the white to black would make a very nice looking evil Astrakein. Maybe Chalid authored the ritual used to bring the Infernals into the world, and signed some demonic pacts from which he hopes Lugus will be able to free him. )

Damn that looks awesome. Now all we need is someone to put that back into ToB so we can have a cool looking Sarevok. :P

Awesome. Empyrean is now my religion of choice. Radiant guards already look so awesome. Now they are prefect.

Does Nikis-Knight's word count as canon? If so, Chalid is apparently the son of the man who found Varn Gosam in the desert, according to this. Before I read that, I was thinking that he might be some kind of redeemed criminal too, given the teachings of Lugus.

Oh dear. This gives me a reason to play FfH2 again, since i've been taking a break from it. Thank you, you are so awesome.

Some of what he wrote (such as, a lot of pedia entries) count as cannon, but that certainly does not. When Kael isn't directing his writings he seems to depart from lore significantly. The fact that he thought Varn was a Svartalfar and seemed oblivious to the episode in the Shadowed Vale/Shadow Rift rule that out.

Looks great*. I like the sound of a Radiant Guard on a chariot too. With all this new art I'll have to play Mercurians following Empyrian once the next patch hits.

* I think it's okay that Chalid looks millitant. Sure he's pious and all, but he also summons pillars of fire, waves of searing light, and has the potential to become massively strong with access to a lot of sun mana.

Only thing I don't like is his lips. Bit big. Other than that, I declare epic.
