I later found out that BB was fined something like $10,000 for every copy they sold before the release date.... something to that effect.
Strange.

I'm not sure that makes sense. A release date is an agreement between the supplying game maker and the store chain... so the gov't would not be handing out 10,000 fines as it's none of their concern/business. And even if the maker of Doom somehow sued Best Buy over it, I doubt it would be a 10,000 per copy fine. That would easily amount to over half a million dollars.

Its released today. If they get it they can sell it. Or so says my work kiosk at Best Buy.

Oh and the whole fined thing never really panned out. They left Best Buy a Bill and Best Buy said, "screw you". They said, "Well we wont ship you our product anymore!". Best Buy said, "So? we only make a couple bucks on that stuff, keep it! Your the one losing money." They said, "...". Best Buy laughed.

Now the rule is if a store puts it out on display early they just get the product shipped later to them than anyone else. Losing the rush of customers that like accessories as well as game.

No he opened a thread and tried to fool people with an old photo downloaded from 1up or whatever it's called. Then when everyone laughed at him he tried to excuse himself with some ridiculousness. Oh yeah, before that he removed said image to make it look like he'd never posted it. Ridiculous. The mods deleted the entire thread.
