And s/he's right, that's absolutely not a netbook and yes, since it's geared to be able to run in some capacity on i3s and i5s, an i7 should rip it up.

It has an 11.6in screen and no optical drive in my eyes it a netbook.

It's a small notebook then . Netbooks are not just smaller notebooks they're cheaper and weaker mobile computers.

Just wanted feedback whether people think it will run well as I dont have much pc gaming experience and thought the recommended specs seemed a little over the top for a turn based game.

GPU is pretty good for a subnotebook, but still low-end in the great scheme of things. I would guestimate it to be suitable for medium graphics settings. CPU is weak though, below to just minimum (with turbo). Might be not much fun on larger maps.

The GeForce GT 335M should be fine, its a pretty solid mid range card.

core i7 is state of the art series of intel but this is maybe the slowest of that series. Buty still i think it should be more than enough.

Don't forget laptop i7's will be much slower than their desktop counterparts.
But yeah I'd say yours will run it fine.
