The thread title basically says it all. I've got an old copy of Office XP Professional (2002, I think) from when I built my previous computer, was in college and could get the whole suite for a sweet $25 from the campus bookstore. Now it's eight years or so later, I'm no longer in college and am not going back any time soon, and I need some office software--gotta update my resume, at the very least. I'd rather not pay the price they're asking for the current version of Office (I'll keep both my kidneys and no, you may not have my firstborn daughter when/if she comes along, thank you very much), and the old version I've got, while very dated, does basically everything I need and more. But I'm worried that it won't be compatible. Does anybody know whether I'll be able to install it on my newer system and get it working?
EDIT: Forgot to mention, I tried installing the free word processing programs in the stickied topic. Neither of them would install.
