Will not let me Start a Game

so here's what happened...I went to dl the 3.17 patch from here (i got the unofficial solver...don't know if that was the right one) and it said that I didn't have 3.17 to begin with so I checked the build and it's 3.13. So now I'm really confused because it should be working I'd imagine. I also re-installed with patch "h" to see if that made a difference but no joy. I tried doing an in-game update and got an error so not too sure what to do there. Anyways, any help would be great...if I can't get'r to work then I'll just have to cut my losses unfortunately...what I've been able to see of the mod looks amazing though and the soundtrack is evil If only I had the skill and the time.

Unofficial Solver patch is a patch FOR 3.17, it won't bring you up TO 3.17.
