It sounds that there wont be any anti cheat software implimented. Will they at least control the rampant pause crashings hogs who make multiplayer a joke now? Even 'password tribe' feature is broken to avoid joiners. How about a rating system?

U both must be new tothe game. I only play multi and people who are loising keep pausing the game a million times until everyone leaves. Or after a vote screen popes up they wont vote efectivly crashing the game. Single player know-it-alls dont have a clue it seems.

Yes this can be a problem, but this is not a problem if you join the organized MP league were we have rules about this. Some things can not be solved by code but by peer presure!

Save the game, reload to the lobby and continue without the person. Works for direct-ip connect games.

That's why we don't use gamespy or play with people that we don't know. ;)
I guess that's why we don't have that problem. The only reason we know this works is if someone falls asleep.

Yes but to get that group of people you know, you have to play with alot of new players, some are going to be idiots and end up on your DNP list, just the cost of doing business in the land of MP. But some can end up being great players and people, end up in your clan, and become life long friends....so the risk can be well worth the effort for your enjoyment time in Civland.

I think the OP is talking about CIVREV. There is a bug that allowed players to freeze the game, then record a win when everyone else dropped out.

thats madness, i never knew that was possible... good thing i dont have Rev hehe

Yes we tried to make a CivRev league at Civplayers but the mechanics like that made running a league functionally impossible.

It led to some monumental stalemates. As players who refused to be cheated would stay connected for 2 to 3 days if necessary, so the freezer would not get a cheap win. Funny, but ridiculous.

CivRev was supposed to be an entry level game that would attract new players to the series. MP probably turned more off.

I am far to be new to the MP game. I just didn't have a clue of what you were talking about. I already encountered people not voting at the vote screen, they are very annoying, but everytime I kept the game on and doing something else, and when came back they were left. Never had a problem with a person pausing though, but I usually play with people I know. My attention just got caught by the word "crashing", that's not what i would say about such things.
