Will this config run Civ4?

Athlon XP 2.0 (so, 1.67GHz), 512 RAM, GeForce 5200-258Mb/128bits.

Does someone have this config? I mean, can I run a standard map, 7 civs, vanilla, low settings?

I prefer gameplay instead eyecand, so I can live without full 3d. But it would be a shame to wait 2 minutes between turns, or just scrooling the map.

I have a compaq presario laptop with a 1.4 ghz processor (intel celeron) and 512 mb of RAM, and some cheap ATI card, can't remeber how good exactly but it's just a standard card. I can play up to standard maps on high setting fine. On large maps, I like to tone down the graphics to medium or even low to decrease stutter. Huge I can't really run without a lot of slowdown.

Just make sure you get the most recent patch.

Hey Everyone,im new here so i hope someone can help me.Im having problems running civ 4 on my comp.I have a new system with an amd 64 pros.and an atix600 vid card can someone please help?

@Major Dragovich: I have a similar spec to you (same graphics card and RAM, 2.4Ghz), and Civ 4 will run fairly well. Large maps and below will run at a reasonable rate (max of about 30 secs between turns in late game, though scrolling is sluggish later on). The only problem is that the various movies are very stuttery, but that won't impact gameplay, so if eyecandy doesn't bother you that shouldn't be an issue.

@Great Dane: Really need to know specifically what the problem is to be able to offer any help here.

@tombeef, MrCynical: thanks for the info. I really don't bother on graphics (love chess), but it'd be annoying to play with many lags. And I don't want to upgrade my PC just for Civ, even being a "civfanatic". ;-)

You bet your ass it is. I know your being hopeful but that isnt going to cut it all. You need a major upgrade in all areas.
