Willfull apprentice in a mages guild... where to now

Hey guys

Ive been looking around the posts, and seen references to the circle of galen. Is this something related to the willfull apprentice event? If so, what path should I be taking (through the events) to get the benefit of this? Also, what does this guild actually do? Are there any requirements other than a mage's guild?

I believe you need to let him continue his research. I read that in either Xien's guide or a religion summary not 100% never seen it myself.

That is the first event in a series of (at least 3) events, however the others in the series don't seem to be working. Choosing to put the apprentice in change of the guild should continue the series, but doesn't.

Once founded, Guild spreads automatically to all the founder's cities with mage guilds. It provides +2 xp for arcane units built in guild cities. Founding it also give you the Galen unit, an archmage hero with chaos 1. There are also some minor effects of the events leading ip to it, some of them risky.


I think xienwolf found a workaround for the guild founding, involving the addition of few new buildings. Apparently none of the events that have other events as prereqs are working, but making the event give a building that is the only requirement for the next event works fine.

Here is the link to the thread I posted a modular temporary fix.

In the 3 events it is pretty clear which one gives you the right progress, especially with my work-around since Gaelan's name is on the buildings you get to make the event work properly. But there are 3 events total and you need to choose option 2 in each one.

Gaelan isn't an archmage though, he only has channeling 2. But if you aim to get a Mage guild ASAP you can typically have him well before most people are able to acquire mages by other means.
