Hello,

I'm new here, I read abouth this mod to be the best out there regarding realism, so I decided to try it out (and it's great)...

The problem is that after a random playing time (10 minutes to 5 hours) Windows (XP) shuts down and there's nothing I can do but restart my computer (using the small buton)
(this wouldn't be a real problem but today it crashed 3 times in one hour)
This mosly happens when, after the end of a turn, I recive diplo messages form someone (the only thing that I see before the crash is the AI's face but no options for about 1 second), but it also happend doring the AI's moves, but extremely rare.

I of course have the game and mod updated and there is no other problem (except for a small LAG because of my 4GB of ram)

Have you enabled the 3GB switch for windows xp? A quick search should tell you how to in greater detail than I can provide, but it has worked for me. Also, consider installing A New Dawn modmod for your RoM, it contains a lot of improvements that make the game run smoother. If you dont like the added features it brings, just uncheck everything during install, it will still install the speed improvements.

thank you for the fast response... please tell me what is the 3GB swich... as for the mod I will download it

OK It didn't work, after the 3gb thing and the modmod, and 5 hours of enjoyable gameplay it crashed the same way (in the classical era, in a diplo message)

(I play a huge map with 9 opponents)

Anyone had this kind of problem (because I only see CTD not windows shut-downs)

Delete civgamecore.DLL
I also have similar problems. I tried every way happened. Then I learned I am trying this method. We never experienced any problems

from the civ folder or BTS folder?

edit, after deleting them all, another (big) problem apeared, units begin to disapear and are bieng replaced by huge monocolor triangles that make the game imposible to play, as I see only colored shapes...

so back to the drawing board, (I thought that file was there for a reason, so I made a back-up)

Don't do this. This is the game engine. Removing It will break your game into little tiny pieces.
