Wonder Effect Changes

I'm half-expecting The Oracle to be changed. Now that social policies are cheaper and don't lead to any victory type, a free policy sounds really bad for a wonder, especially an early one where you'll be investing a lot of turns into building it.

I don't think it will be changed, but it will probably be buffed, ie an additional -10% social policy cost, or just 2 free social policies.

(it does give a free social policy earlier than the other options... the modern era ideology wonders)

But Free social policies are definitely devalued (Poland getting one per era, Free tenets for Ideologies, etc.)

Tacking any of those things on is enough to constitute a change for me. Personally, I'll be disappointed if it remains the same.

Harbor is likely the naval equilivent of Carvanssary.

Well the tech compass itself gives a + to sea trade range, so it is probably not the exact equivalent.

Lighthouse has a +production from sea resources, so that has probably been removed from harbor

I would guess it has
1. city connections
2. +gold from sea trade routes out of this city [markets seem to have the +gold from trade routes Into this city, so that is probably the market-bank-stock market bonus]

The more I hear of these changes, the more I appreciate that this expansion is almost like an entirely new game...Civ 5.5 if you will. I also expect there may turn out to be undiscovered balancing issues that turn up after we get our hands on it and play it to death in the coming weeks. I'm getting more excited just thinking about it, since this is what I wanted Civ V to be from the beginning.

What happened to the Motherland Calls??? Is the International Space Station considered to be one of the 8 wonders, or is it a "project" like the World Fair or Olympic Games? There's still questions left unanswered and we're so close to release. I suppose some surprises need to be left for release day.

International Space Station IS a Wonder (so Motherland Calls is out)
it is rewarded to the winner of the World Congress "project" rather than built (which is why it is not on the tech tree... like cathedrals, missionaries, great persons, etc.)

I must have missed where the Parthenon comes pre-equipped with a Great Work. But if it does, how could it not be the frieze itself? Missed opportunity, that is.

I can't recall the source, but I remember that Parthenon came with the Great Work slot pre-filled with "Phidias Showing the Frieze of the Parthenon to his Friend", by Lawrence Alma-Tadema (something that stroke me as strange, since Alma-Tadema was a XIX century artist).
If I can find the source, I'll post it.
