Well it isn't.
Wasn't a Merkava destroyed by PA troops in Febuary?

It was on the net...I recall.

NO tank is indestructable.

Hmph, that's why I said almost :P

Small correction: Not PA troops, illegal combatants like Hamas.

And besides, the only reason the Merkava was destroyed is because the troops didn't take advantage of the modular armor to construct armor plates on the bottom.

Most chances are that in that case they will suffer most of the blast.

And, IIRC, no tank made today (without special armor) can survive a 100K dynamite beneath it. :king:

Tanks are not built to patrol roads. That's why the bottom is (almost) not protected. The Pals used the weakness and destroyed 2 Merkavas(Mk3) in two separate incidents.

Anyone got any info on the progress of Soviet tanks since the T-34? In terms of their medium tank development? I think it went something like -

T-34
T-54 (?)
T-68 (?)
T-76 (?)

Pictures/stats would be good too if poss

Finally - what type of tanks did Israel use themselves and face most in the 1967 and 73 wars? Also - what were Iraq using in the Gulf Wars of 1980-88 and 1991?
