Won't let me install

The autorun has an error message about a .DLL and then it freezes when I try to access the cd drive.

It has done this on both my laptop and desktop.

Which version of the game? Original Civ3? Gold? Complete? One of the expansion Packs?

And what is the exact error message? "...an error message about a .DLL" doesn't tell us much.
