What do you mean with cheatomatic anyway? A specific program, or just a generic cheat program?

I think the latter, PaPa probably thought the former and found a site that described how that works. And indeed his program is nothing like it... Except the cheating of course, and in that case you're correct, it's a cheat program.

I agree, as a cheat program it's silly, but as a programming exercise and civ2 memory hack it's extremely interesting.

And as he said too, you can give your opponents money just as well, so you can also make it harder for yourself, rather than easier... Well, in principle anyway, because the AI doesn't seem too smart with money (although bribe prices etc. will be affected, I believe).

Cheatomatic was used by certain players back in the gameleague days. Its a basic hexedit program that will let you change goldvallues, basicly the same as this program.
