Worker speeds question

Hi folks, I just wanted to know how the worker speed bonuses are calculated. Now, in a democracy workers work at a rate of 150%. That means a 50% bonus. And in the replaceable parts tech it says workers work twice as fast, which means a 100% bonus. Now what I wanted to know is are these bonuses applied seperately or are they added together and then applied. I mean if I have replaceable parts and am in a democratic government, is my worker bonus:
100% + (100% + 50%) = 250% or
(100% + 100%) + 50% = 300% [Note that ((100% + 50%) + 100%) also yields 300%]
(100% for the base speed, 50% for democracy, 100% for replaceable parts)
These are only my theories for worker speed bonuses. If they are actually calculated very differently, please tell me how. Also on a related issue, does anyone now what exactly the worker bonus is for an industrious civ? And, (might as well ask it here, no sense in starting a new thread for it) how much is the reduction in corruption for a commercial civ? Does a commercial civ also reduce waste? I know corruption is a hot topic so feel free to point me to a previous thread if this question has already been answered.
 
I believe they are all calculated and then added at the same time... But I am not certain.

As for the industrious civs I thought they were 100%.

I have a related question though. How come some jungles take freaking forever to hack down while others take about half that (half of forever that is :crazyeye: )

One would imagine that jungle would tend to be far denser than forests, thus making them tougher to clear.
 
I do not mean jungles compared to forrests.. I mean jungles comapred to other jungle spaces.

Are you saying that it is only the central jungle spaces that take long?? That could be. I just have never really paid attention to a pattern. Its just sometimes it would take like 48turns for one worker and other junlge spaces it would take 24.. Course I would send more workers to help.. But I mean the initilization of the work.

What make you say some jungles are faster to clear than other ?

But yes, it clearly takes forever. I HATE JUNGLES. Arraarrgh :) How comes there is so many of it ?
 
It might have something to do with me usually being Industrious :mischief:

And other times I play with the faster production option (I like games to get nice and brutal early on). You think that would have an effect of some being faster than others? I do not mean compared to other games... I mean in one game I have seen some jungles take less time than others... But to me it seemed it was the other way around (some taking longer :rolleyes: )

Three reasons:

Workers you're using are slaves/not slaves. In VC3/PTW the slave worker has the same graphic I believe as the normal worker.

You've just played an industrious civ, and are remembering how many turns it took. This is always a let down for me after playing an Ind civ.

Government. In Democracy, you get a 50% bonus. In Despotism/Anarchy you get a 50% penalty. Might be more than that, but I think it's 50%.
 
Ah yeah.. I always forget about those pesky underworking slaves:)
