I have heard this term used before but don't know what it means. At the risk of sounding a newb, what is a worker stack and what does it do for you? Can you have more than one worker doing the same job on the same tile? Thanks in advance.

I beleive this is using more than one worker to complete a job faster. For instance, an industrious civ can complete a road with 2 workers in one turn while in any govt except Dem. With Dem you need two workers for a railroad. You get the idea.

Welcome to CFC!

Worker stack is a group of workers in the same tile.
Yes. It finishes the worker task faster.

and yes you can have more than one worker working on a tile, and doing different things if you wish...

What happened to the idea "create worker gang" or something like that!! that were supposed to be introduced in some patch a while ago? As I understood the idea you could keep your workers in a stack so that you don't have to tell 8 workers to clear pollution, mine etc.

mayb under advanced buttons? goto preferences and check show advanced worker buttons

Nope, no group commands other than GoTo for workers or any other units. It sure would be nice though.

While they're at, they should add group bombard for artillery, planes and ships.

theres group fortify and wake... which is good, but group bombardment would be mint, especially if it was clever enough to stop when everything was redlined

you don't understand THIS FEATURE IS NOT IN ANY VERSION OF CIV3

What, you haven't heard of a worker army? ;)

Units stack, and don't all get killed at once (like civ2), thank goodness. Although you do get all the enemy workers in a stack.
:hmm:

Maybe you've heard of the stack of death/doom? SOD

That is a large stack of troops, possibly marching right up to the enemy capital without an resistance.
