Is there a way to stop workers from aborting their work when there's an enemy nearby? This is quite annoying in some cases, particulary when you have Nox Noctis.

You'd think that loyal workers would stop and run away, but captured workers and slaves would keep going in hopes of being rescued.

Pretty sure it's just in the Game Options, you can set 'cancel orders for enemy units' or something to that effect.

It seems that it's based on the enemy movement range, i.e. they wake up when lizardman is 2 tiles away but would ignore a warrior until it's on adjacent tile. I'm not sure now but i think I once had a worker stopping when there was no enemy visible, I think it was a lizardman within attack range but still covered with fog of war.

Typically waking up when there is no unit in sight happens when a unit moves to the tile next to the unit, then moves away. This happens a lot when you are working on the borders of your territory and a wolf comes over to say "howdy" (animals are not allowed to enter your borders, so move point 1 it comes next to the worker and wakes it up, move point 2 it moves back out of sight). That or a Giant Spider sitting there in his web just hoping you step out to greet him :)

Actually, I'm fairly certain that the most recent BTS patch makes workers wake up a little further away now, I think a standard two squares. Doesn't seem linked to sight either.
