Taking a first stab at a custom map and set-up a new world with 20 civs and numerous barbarians.

Civ V launched and I was able to select the map.

I chose a Civ and I know where it is supposed to be, but when the map loaded it is nowhere near (near water) where it should be assuming it is the map.

Is this normal? Anyway to check if the map was selected after launch? Or does it randomize anyways?

Thanks.

P.S. Is there a mod manual like with Civ IV?

Not sure if I understood you right. But it sounds like a comon *mistake* to me: did you select "load scenario" after chosing the map? If yes, then Civ5 will use your SP, otherwise Civ5 will spread the Civs anywhere else on map.

There is a PDF manual, just search for ... "Kaels Totorial" (or something like so, I don't know how it is named, nor I have a link yet.

Thanks for the reply.

I am loading the map from a custom game, not in a scenario. I am guessing that is the problem.

I will look for the pdf.
