World War II: Pacific Theatre in progress - Recruiting a modder (maps in thread)

Das: That sounds great. The map file is proving to be a monumental time sink in terms of the amount of work and tweaking needed, so I can just hold onto that for now and receive mod components.

Lord: Yes I agree with those. Except I think allowing more than 74 turns would be nice. What I think would be best for now is to get the more basic functions down, such as the monthly turn progress, slow research, no settlers or cultural expansion, naval movement speed. I envision a functional scenario at the very least, that can be expanded upon with more advanced mods if some really skilled modders want to: such as the new tech tree, new units, and unique traits :goodjob:

I don't nessesarily agree with your speed choices. I think Submarines and U-Boats were much slower than battleships, even while surfaced.

I think that carriers and battleships ought to have the same speed, since in a strategic context they practically did, and often travelled together in task forces at the same speed. If it was up to me, I'd say Destroyer: 5, Battleship and Carrier: 4, Submarine: 3.

Damned balance considerations. :D

I can buy that. Yeah, average surface speed of the best subs was around 20kt. But figured for gameplay reasons they might be useless if too slow, but being invisible sure helps.
