Hey all.
I've had a bit of an experiment with Worldbuilder, and built a small scenario which I'd like to play. I won't explain what it is, that's not important, but it's taken me a little while to setup.
I made the map and used the "Scenario Editor" button to add in Civs, start them all at Medieval Era with the correct techs and suitable policies. From there, I placed cities on the map, added terrain improvements, cultural borders, units etc, so that when the player joins the scenario, the game is already set up and running, rather than starting from 4000BC with a settler.
I saved this as a map, set up a game on Civ with that map via advanced setup, then exited advanced setup back into the regular setup, where a checkbox appeared saying "Load Scenario" I ticked this and was given a choice of the CiVs I had placed ingame, great so far! Problem was, when the game loaded, it loaded at 4000BC, giving me a settler and warrior, rather than all of the cities/troops I had set up.
I didn't go through the stages of converting the map/scenario into a mod. This is my first time messing about on this. I don't really want to convert it into a full blown mod, rather I'd just like to play the scenario. If converted into a mod using the other half of the CiV SDK, will I be unable to gain achievements on this map? (As a note, this isn't a scenario based around giving me achievements, I'm just wondering if it's possible as I've heard people before remark that they created a scenario with lots of barbarian ships in order to get an achievement for sinking ships, so I figure it has to be possible)
The second time, I set the game up from Medieval Era, seeing as that's where all the Civs were started from. Only change is I got 3 settlers and 3 spearmen rather than a settler/worker.
Basically where do I go from here? I'm just looking to play this little scenario I've set up, or do I have to somehow turn it into a full mod and be unable to gain achievement progress?
Thanks for any help
