I would like to play Earth but I don't want 18 civilizations. So, I loaded the Earth Scenario with 18 civs into world builder and thought I would just be able to get rid of a couple and save it. Well I deleted one civilizations unit and starting city but when I load it to play the cultural boundry is still there with no City or unit.

Basically it thinks the civ is still there. So, how do I get rid of a civilization with WorldBuilder or play the Earth map and specify what civs I want in the game.

Thanks!

Egypt moves first in that scenario, so if you start a game as Egypt you will be able to enter the worldbuilder and delete the other civs units before they can found any citys. You can then save the file as a scenario in the worldbuilder. If you then reload this scenario you will be able to pick the civilization you wish to play.

I hope this helps.

Thanks, I really thought that would work but it didn't. When I deleted a couple of the Civs it still placed them back when I created the game. The world builder seems pretty limited compareed to previous civs. I just want to be able to play Earth map but specifiy exactly who I want in the game.

Do you know a way I can do this?

maybe try to edit the actual text WBsave file as explained here in post #4. i have no idea if that will work or not. you'll find more experts on the C&C forum than here. good luck!

The civ 4 worldbuilder is awful. Maybe the simplest way of doing this is to use the worldbuilder to place a barbarian unit directly in the capital of the civs you don`t want in your game. This will destroy their capital and remove it`s cultural influence. You can then manually delete the civs scouting unit and the barbarian. This worked in a test I just did.
