I got one of those new Zalman heatsinks for the computer I am building. It is a lot heavier than I anticipated. Is it safe to install onto a motherboard that is being mounted in a tower case? I have previously built into desktop cases. I am a little worried that the weight of it over time could pull the processor socket out of the motherboard or something else. Am I being too worrysome?

Newer mobos have a backplate on the bottom which the HSF mounts to and supports the wieght, rather than the socket itself. It's fine under normal circumstances, but if you dropped the case or something theres good chance it could crack or break the board (so don't drop it ;) ).
