I own the original Civilization 2. I see that Amazon.com now offers the complete Civ 2 with scenarios. Is it worth spending the $10 just for some additional features, or am I fine with my original Civ 2 and waiting for Civ 3?

Thx

If you have the money to spare, why not? The scenarios are pretty fun too if I remember correctly. Besides, you got like another 2 weeks or so before Civ3 is out. Go for it!

don't buy anything but MGE, otherwise you won't be able to play all of the scenarios that have been made. (well, you won't be able to play any ToT scenarios, but their aren't very many) And scenarios are more than half the fun, and then their's multiplayer. You could get FW, but I'd try looking for MGE instead.

Ummmm...could you translate MGE, FW, and ToT for me? I haven't followed the subsequent releases since the original.

Unless you have lots and lots of spare time over the next two monts wait for civ3: you'll be playing that so much (40 scenarios, does that still stand?) that there will be no time for civ2

I dont know about you but i love multiplayer games, Nothing is compared to going up against another human civ that has differents strats. The AI u can read them like the back of a book. MGE is the way to go---unless you dont like multiplay-Civ3 comes out in 2 weeks but the multiplayer patch/version wont be out till next year so my opinion is if you like to play vs humans buy it and play civ3 when you cant find a game vs humans or dont have time. But its up to you-I will still play civ2 more till multiplayer is released for it-and play civ3 on my spare time when zone is dead or i dont have anything to do with the family :)

the downside of buying MGE now is that everyone is going to be busy playing civ3 and no one will want to start a new multiplayer game after~ oct 31.

I am sure there would be some who won't be getting their Civ3 copies on Oct 31. Like those living in other countries, those with obsolete comp and no money to buy new ones to run the game, those who can't get a copy at their local store and didn't pre-order etc etc. Besides Civ3 as it is now has no MP so if you want to play MP, you'll still need to go back to old faithful Civ2 MGE. :)
