Would Russia be a world power?

also, Lenin's brother once tried to kill the Czar but was exectued.

umm..Poland invaed USSR?

no wait, I thought Lenin ordered the Red Army to invade Poland because of Lenin's idea of a "worldwide" revolution. Lenin wanted the revolution to gon for years ands spread to different countries. Stalin was the idiot who isolated himself and thought of the "Socialism in one country!" idea...

I don't think that Stalin was an idiot who isolated USSR. IMO Russia was not isolated in the 30's, because they had economic ties with the US and with Germany.
Lenin's idea of a worldwide revolution was stupid and utopian, Stalin revision was more a down to earth view of Soviet capability.

Stalin was a monster that sacrificed and murdered his on people.

Russia would have collapsed without the Soviets. All those ethnic groups would have seceded if it werent for the Communists

Imagine all the wars between the ethnic groups if there was no strong central government?

only 50 years of Soviet control softened the people up a bit. even now they are fighting the Chechens and all those other countries seceded, Imagine how many countries Russia would have been divided into?

There would be no Russia without a strong central government

The so-called democracy of 1917 was quite different from the so-called democracy of 2004. Managing a country to achieve a dominant role on the planet really has nothing (or almost nothing) to do with democracy. Not to mention parliamentary democracy is a very young chapter of history. One could wonder how world lived for thousands of years.

Poland demended that the USSR scede some territory, but the USSR only wanted to give them some of what they wanted. so Poland invaded. they did good at first but the USSR quickly rrounded up a 1.5 million man army and started pushing toward Warshaw. but then the French helped the Poles(i'm not sure how they helped) and eventually a peace treaty was signed where Poland got the territory the USSR originally offered.
