Hey you all!

My HP went and die of Heat exhaustion... So I need to find a new machine to run these fun Civ programs...

So I found an HP with a quad core AMD A6-3400M CPU and an AMD 6520G graphics processor. Anyone have a clue if this combo work well enough?

I also found a ASUS G73 Gaming Series G73JH-BST7 Refurbished Notebook Intel Core i7 740QM (1.73GHz) 17.3" 6GB Memory 640GB HDD 5400rpm DVD Super Multi ATI Mobility Radeon HD 5870

Apparently many people getting this computer had to update the VBIOS themselves to get the machine to work with gaming software... is it worth the pain of the update? probably

First one should be good for medium graphics and maybe a bit above, but the CPU will give you relatively long turn times late game.

Second one is a completely different league, about as good as notebook specs get. It might die prematurely like your old one due to heat stress if you use it for heavy Civving, though.

 That is kind of how I hoped and thought the two would rate... Now I need to determine if the extra 350 bucks is worth the difference...

I would probably get the one with better graphics. I need to know more to know for sure though.
