Jokes aside, um . . . such action can have unpredictable consequences. Saudi Arabia and other Muslim countries would almost certainly find a way to get revenge anyway possible. Other countries would isolate USA diplomatically (remember, some of the pilgrims killed would be their citizens as well). There will be mass riots in the USA, protesting the action and the death of American citizens from the nuke.

It's impossible to say, there's no definate scenario. If Saudi Arabia had ballistic nuclear missiles aimed at Israel or Europe no one would blame us. If we just did it tomorrow of course they would. So without a scenario I can't give an answer.

The US once considered nuking Beijing to end the Korean War. They did nuke Hiroshima and Nagasaki to end World War II. That's one case where the US would nuke a city: to end a conflict quickly and swiftly.

If it were done for a good reason: Nothing.
If it were done for a bad reason: Lots of yelling and screaming at the USA. We would find a scapegoat and feed him to the UN, to be tried for warcrimes and executed for closure. We would most likely pay reparations and thats it.
There is no way in hell any of the Nuclear powers would hit us for that...we would detect their launches as well and retaliate back.
