It could be a temple of any Indic tradition - Hindu, Buddhist, Jain, Parsee (not strictly Indic, but Aryan nonetheless).

Remember that these guys distribute free food, and usually act as a centre for people to improve the community of whatever place they're located in. The Neasden temple in London, for example, completely turned around what was previously a downmarket area.

Why would I care? It's no different from a mosque, a cathedral, a library (the atheist's church), or a synagogue.

Yep. I'm not aware of any in the immediate vicinity, though I am sure Kansas City itself probably has at least a few.

Sure... not to sure it would get much use down here though.

This is America, I don't really care what you build in my neighborhood as long as you aren't forcing me to do anything.

Sure, if there were people to use it. Pretty pointless to build something to serve a nonexistent community.

I would be against it if it lowered property values, but if it was sufficiently far away (or indeed increased property values), then I would be fine with it. Same as anything else...

I would be against any religous building.

Since those folks dont blow themselves up on a daily basis I wouldnt have any problem with it at all.

Do other religious folks in America blow themselves up on a daily basis?

Because Muslims blow themselves up near their own Mosques? That makes absolutely no sense.
You'd have thought that Christian Churches or government property would be the prime targets.
Therefore, I propose the abolishment of government property and christian churches and their replacement by Mosques to ensure the security of everyone :smug:

Well, until the Irish get pissed off, anyways.

Any good-sized temple tends to make prices shoot up, as the aesthetics of the entire neighbourhood go way up.
Yeah, that's what happened with some of my family's homes in London. The thing is, Hindu temples are normally built in predominantly Hindu areas, and attract Hindu buyers, so I suppose it makes sense that they'd go up.

However, since this was about my neighbourhood, I'd imagine house prices would drop as a result ;)

Did I say in america? Was my statement false? Nope.

Why would you be afraid of one group of people that blow themselves up everyday thousands of miles + an ocean away if they aren't physically in your neighborhood doing their nonsense?

Your statement wasn't false, but the thread title says in "your neighborhood", and I know you live in America, so you are directly implying that you feel threatened here in a America by a certain group of religious folks that would not be blowing themselves up on a daily basis. Why?
