So, er, random thread.

Voted neutral, as long as they don't meddle in my affairs.

hmm. I should note, the my town generally sees it the same way. I do wonder, however, that had the temple been taller, more discernible, and more "Indian", if people would still not mind?

Obviously I'm not from your town, but I would be even more supportive if it were more "Indian" than if it were just an old YMCA. Would people really be offended by more beautiful architecture just because it had ethnic flavor?

Lucy, you're a good person for thinking that. But I'm generally a realist, and I wouldn't be surprised if (some) people got ideas of their "culture" or "way of life" being attacked when they see something different.

Meaning : Whenever there is a decline of Dharma (Righteousness) and a predominance of Adharma (Unrighteousness), O Arjuna, then I manifest Myself. I appear from time to time for protecting the good, for destroying the wicked, and for establishing world order (Dharma). (4.07-08 , Srimad Bhagwat Gita)

Forget it! I'd be too afraid of one of the avatars appearing and chopping all of us up!
