(After reading this post please go down and read the third post as I have explained in more detail how the game will work. thanx)

I came up with this brainwave of an idea, here it is:

I will create a website for a e-mail based game where you get to create your own films.

You choose the actors, the director and script writers. Then your film will be rated according to Actor ratings, director ability and its script.

I've still alot of thinking to do but I believe it will be very good when it gets going. What I really want to know is if anyone would be interested in playing such a game?

If I find that over 20 people are interested then I will create it.

Thanx very much,
Dexter

I dont really understand how this would work in any way at all - do you want scripts

I won't be writing any scripts, but might read one or two if they are interesting. Good luck! :)

Ok, let me explain some:

YOU will not write scripts and they will not be full scripts but instead a quick run through of the plot and characters, how it ends, the begining and the start.

YOU will pick which actors YOU want in the film from a list of hollywood stars. Like in real life there will be an A-list, a B-list, a C-list and newbies. YOU will have to employ script writers who will write the film for YOU.Then YOU must employ a director.

Now for the smart bit:

After employing Script writers you will then have to approach a film company who will decide if your film is worth making. Then if accepted you will recieve a budget from the company with which you must choose actors, directors etc....
BUT some actors might not want to star in the movie and some directors may not want to direct your movie. This is where you will have to work at gaining a good rep and work your way up the film industry until you can sign the best actors, directors etc...
Also this game will be multiplayer, so for a little competition whoever releases a movie at the same time as you will compete with you and some actors will be doing another movie when you want them.

Plus all this will be decided over e-mail and through the website. You will go to the website and do all the choosing stuff and will be notified by e-mail of decisions and happenings in the movie world.

I hope this has expanded on everything.:goodjob:

The entertain ment comes from beating your opponents and earning the most ultimate prize of your film becoming a classic.

By thew way did I mention the film which grosses the most money in the competition at the end of the year might win a prize...:D

 You hit the spot Scorch! That's exactly what will happen, you will play against each other, plus I'll have a message board where you can talk to other players.

That's 1 interested, 2 if Starlifter's post ment he was interested.
Jus 18 more to go.

It sounds like Championship Manager but without the excitement or interest of football. Who cares about Hollywood except for the end result? I don't see photos of best boys and gaffers being mobbed in the streets. When I was much younger and enjoying the delights of the first Civ, I came up with an idea for a similar game, but based on gangsters fighting for a city. The police would be the most powerful force and so you'd have to be very diplomatic and make sure your underworld activities remained so. There has probably already been a game like this released since I came up with it - 91/92 I think - it was more strategic than Syndicate though. I gave up after that, and since I couldn't be bothered to flesh it out with sketches of graphics or anything, it died an inevitable death. Good luck with your ideas, but they'll need to be more entertaining than this one.

but thats only for civ2
True, though that is where most of my own personal storytelling is done :). I probably won't have time for any "extra" stuff like what you're proposing because I can't respond well enough to the current topics of the day anyway.
