Haven't you seen an Ingmar Bergman movie? Depressing movies rock!
Seriously, as I've gotten older I crave movies that really affect me on an emotional level. It's rare for me these days, with the plots seemingly interchangable and visual splendor the main focus.
I think it's a good story, and now that super-hero movies have finally hit their stride, the timing seems right to consider making it.
Watchmen has a very tight plot, nothing is wasted, nothing is insignificant. X2 managed to pull off a tight plot -- more complex that previous SH movies, so I am thinking it's possible...
