Please tell me all the specifics of the gameplay and give me a full working demo so I can accurately gauge that.

Assuming Civ IV is going to be better then Civ III then No I would not play Civ III again unless it was for nostalgic purposes.

I don't even play Civ III now. Civ II is where its at.. And i'll probably still play that :).

oops, I clicked the wrong one (I wanted to click no, but I clicked yes  ), I would only play civ4 (assuming that my computer doesn't force the graphics to be horrible for smooth running)

No, because it would confuse me and I won't let go of Civ III tactics in Civ 4, which seems like a necessity with the new gameplay additions.

I would keep Civ III installed, but mainly play Civ IV. Go back to Civ III on occasion to remember the "good ole days"

I keep a lot of games for the sake of the "good ol' days":

CIV II: ToT
CIV II vanilla
CIV I for Windows

I am currently playing Civ I because I'm having a nostalgia attack. Since I haven't played this since I was two years old, I really wanted it.
(BTW, I always lost when I was two, finishing at 2% )

I'll probably play Civ 4 for couple months, realize that Civ 3 is still on my computer, play it for a while and (If Civ 4 is as good as it should be) realize that yes, Civ 4 is definitly better! :D (Although when I went from Civ I to Civ III it was surprising at the difference :))

I already uninstalled all previous civs and civ-like (moo2, ctp, galactic civ) from my machine. I am currently playing rpgs (KOTOR2 & Dungeon Siege 2) to flush my brain to prepare for cIV.

I wont look back. I think.

its easy to play a version 2 generations older - in this case, civ1. but 1 generation (civ2) is not fun.
so, when i have civ4, ill likely enjoy civ1 and maybe civ2 occasionally. but not civ3 =\

I already stopped playing Civ 3 some time ago. For me, although it had some improvements in principle, in practice it had less appeal than its predecessors. I'm waiting to see whether Civ 4 will mark a recovery for the series. So far, it seems possible.

IMO, Civ has become better with each iteration. If Civ4 continues this trend, the only reason to still play Civ3 will be the mods. When equivalent mods become available for Civ4, I will stop playing Civ3 completely.

I could never go back to Civ II after experiencing borders and culture. Something tells me experiencing civics and religion in Civ IV is gonna bury Civ III for me for ever.
