Did they had breast implants even on Catherines age? That body of her in Civ Rev look more like an adolescent fantasy than a historical depiction.

I think they should look as realistic as possible and represent the age and appearance they had when their power were at their prime. If that would mean they sometimes will look ugly as f*ck, ´that´s fine by me...

I believe it's the corset she's wearing that augments her breasts (and body).

Not only is this the dumbest thread ever, but the poll options are stupid since there's no option for "both" or "realistic."

Agreed. The question should be sexy/caricature, idealized or realistic. Personally I prefer some idealization, as most people living in medieval times would be butt-ugly for us (missing teeth, purulent sores from nasty things like syphilis, fleas) and smell like ****.
So civ4 was good, civ rev the upper limit for "sexyness"

I prefer caricatures myself. Like the kings in col2, had me laughing which is about as good a job as an animated picture can do. For example Washington could accidentally drop his fake teeth during conversation.

You think Genghis Khan is attractive?

I would like to be as attractive as possible. Catherine and Isabella in Civ4 were :goodjob: but Victoria of England... not so much.

The Civ4 Ghengis is an attractive man. I would let him marry my daughter (if I had one).

I think the worst problem with Civ3 Catherine wasn't that she was ugly, but that she was squarely in the Uncanny Valley. I like looking at the New Russian Hotness as much as the next guy, but if they returned her to her aged appearance, as long as she didn't look like a zombie I wouldn't be too disappointed.

That said, I think a generally "idealized" aesthetic is appropriate for Civ. This isn't a gritty, realistic historical simulator, this is a game where Julius Caesar rushes to tanks and stomps all over Gandhi. So while leaders shouldn't all look like the cast of Friends, necessarily, they should be "attractive" in some way: the younger ones sexy, the older ones noble-looking or otherwise heroic.

And Genghis Khan is second place.
Although Civ3 Temujin did have a crazy awesome suit in the modern era. I do miss those costume changes.
