To date we still don't have a single custom techquote. The techtree essentially stays the same in BTS so check out the warlordsversion and see what you'd like to write about, thx.

Spoiler :

Advanced Engineering
Q: "Keep yer fancy spells, Elf. I haven't the time. Can yer magic carve through mountains? Can it raise a fortress? Ah didn't think so." - Gotri Stonebeard, Dwarven Engineer

P: Every race of the Warhammer world has devised it's own unique brand of technology. The Empire's greatest minds have hatched numerous war machines, from the awe-inspiring Steam Tank to the devastating Volleygun. Most of the other human empires do not have the resources or the desire to reproduce such marvels, but practices such as armor and weapon smithing, and the forging of new, stronger alloys have benefited from advances in technology. The devious race of Skaven rat-men have harnessed the perverse power of warpstone to create bizzare weapons of wicked cunning. their clan Skyre has produced the Doom Wheel, poison gas throwing Globadiers, and the massive rifles known as Jezzails. The technology of the Orcs, if it can be called such, is a hapless mashup of random parts, which, against all common sense, serves them well on the battlefield. The Elves have created graceful war machines, both wicked and pure, to battle their foes. But the race most well known for their engineering are the Dwarves. Dwarven architecture and craftsmanship is second to none. While most races sail the oceans in wooden ships, the Dwarves use steam-powered ironclads. Their cannons and gunpowder weapons are known for their quality and reliability. They have even conquered the skies with Gyrocopters and Airships.

Alchemy
Q-"Warpstone powder and crushed silver mixed with garlic oil, kill fast-fast" - From the book of recipe of Rikkit'tik, Eshin clan "Scholar".
P- The classical pursuit of Alchemy involved the process of transmuting metals, particularly that of lead into gold. In the Warhammer World, Alchemy has taken on the added meaning of any sorcery which incorporates transmutation or change. The mages of the Empire struggle to forge new magical alloys with the magical metal Gromril, while the mutative properties of dread Warpstone are harnessed by myriad races, notably the Skaven and the dark powers of Chaos. Even the Dwarven pursuit of gunpowder technology would not be possible without the magical concoctions of certain powerful wizards.

P: In the Warhammer world, human civilization is not only threatened by Orcs, Chaos, Skaven, and other monstrosities, but also by the everyday political maneuvering of the nobility. Squabbles over territory, succession, and resources frequently flare up into full fledged conflict. While most nobles are able to raise token militias from their local peasantry, they are ill-equipped and prone to low morale. Mercenaries make up the bulk of fighting forces. There are always plenty of opportunities for conflict in the Warhammer world, so any man who has seen at least some combat has the opportunity so earn some gold, if not much. These desperate men come from all corners of the world, and it is not uncommon to see Tileans fighting Kislevites in an Estalian border war!

,P.

Also, all the religions need pedia descriptions:
Ancestor Gods
Corruption
Destruction
"I'm gonna stomp 'em to dust. I'm gonna grind their bones. I'm gonna burn down dere towns and cities. I'm gonna pile 'em up inna big fire and roast 'em. I'm gonna bash 'eads, break faces, and stomp on da bits dat are left. An' den I'm gonna get really mean." --- Grimgor Ironhide, Black Orc Warboss

While most scholars would probably tell you the Orcs aren't intelligent enough to have a religion, they do in fact have a (very small) pantheon of Gods. Gork and Mork represent the twin aspects of being an Orc: savagery and devious cunning. Which god represents which aspect is a subject of much Orcish debate, if such a thing can be said to exist beyond the exchanging of injury. It is from these Gods that Goblin and Orcish shamans draw their magic, and their names are frequently invoked to raise that terrifying Orcish gathering known as the "Waaagh!"
Elven Gods
Eternal Life
Od Ones
Salvation
Spirituality

Feel free to pick and choose from the list as you like, dont hesitate to use creative license (though it would be great if you can find an Actual Warhammer based quote ;) ) and lastly, dont be too daunted by the list, i know its long but just take your time.

Anyone else who would like to help with writing for the mod need only post here and im sure we can find something for you to do :D

If you don't want anything Warhammer specific I could always spend a few hours looking up random quotes from my massive library of books.

Advanced Engineering OR Cannons: My advice is to look out for engineers. They begin with sewing machines and end up with nuclear bombs.-Anonymous (ok I forgot her name >_>)

Banking: Death and taxes are unsolved problems.-Romana Machado

Contemplation: In law a man is guilty when he violates the rights of others. In ethics he is guilty if he only thinks of doing so.-Immanuel Kant

Engineering: A good scientist is a person with original ideas. A good engineer is a person who makes a design that works with as few original ideas as possible. There are no prima donnas in Engineering.-Freeman Dyson

Fanaticism: The badge of the violent is his weapon, spear, sword or rifle. God is the shield of the non-violent. Mohandas Gandhi

Monster Taming: You become responsible forever for what you've tamed. ~Antoine de Saint-Exupéry

Philosophy: Free from desire, you realize the mystery. Caught in desire, you see only the manifestations.- Lao Tzu

Rifling: When I lost my rifle, the Army charged me 85 dollars. That is why in the Navy the Captain goes down with the ship. Dick Gregory

Advanced Engineering OR Cannons: this will be good if we can change 'nuclear bombs' (no nuclear bombs in WH ;).

Banking: do taxes link with banking?

Contemplation: perhaps something a little more mystical (like the button suggests??

Engineering: great

Fanaticism: not bad

Monster Taming: i like this one :)

Philosophy: good, could also work for Slanesh's Pleasures

Rifling: Nice :)

Err no. I don't think quotes from real life will add much warhammerflavor, no nukes, no dollar.;) It will definitly have to be Warhammerspecific if it's supposed to get into the mod(or at least some generic fantasy/medieval flavor that doesn't indicate another specific fantasy background).

Been flicking through a few fantasy book and well foudn a few quotes that might or might not be usefull. Bare in mind these came from books and probably have a copywrite. Well one book... :)

@DeaEx:
Corruption of Chaos good

Fanaticism good

"As our bodies are armoured with iron, our souls are protected with loyalty. ~Chaplain Fergas Nils" ?

Lore of Death good

Necromancy good

Priesthood good

The End of Time good

WAAAGH! great

Warrior Code good

Rawmagic: All magic is evil... except prayers to Sigmar otherwise everything is evil -Sigmarite Templar

Contemplation : Contemplation and prayer is only useful to prepare you for conflict - (think of someone who would say that)

otherwise good job guys :)

Magnus the Pious is awesome... dont know why... but i hesitate to suggest that Magnus the Pious is in some part modelled on Gustavus Adolphus of Sweden who incidently was a Swede who saved the Protestants in Germany from Catholic domination in the 30 years war :) (have a look up at him)

Incidently some words from Magnus the Pious:

"I can see in your eyes that you fear this enemy. I can see in your eyes that you wonder how we can fight such terrible monsters. Men of the Empire, I have the answer: We fight them with our steel, we fight them with our courage, but above all we fight them with our faith in Sigmar!"

And yes it does sound like something Magnus would have said, although i think it must be noted that while Magnus was a very capable soldier and general... he was also very learned in all sorts of things

We fight them with our steel, we fight them with our courage, but above all we fight them with our faith in Sigmar!"

For Fanaticism works nicely i should think :D

And as I download the mod, here's a few for you...
