Eternal Life:

Of all the Races it is a sad fact that Mankind is the weakest of them all. Nothing proves this more than the Cult of Eternal life founded in the southern lands millennia ago. Some people are not content to accomplish all they can in one life and instead devise ways to steal more from others so that they can continue “living”. Eventually the drive for completing great works simply gives way to continuing their wretched existence by whatever means possible. Perhaps it is better this way for some of the more powerful devotees of this religion such as the Lahmians are content to “live” in decadent pleasure while others such as Nagash and Settra’s plans involve the conversion of all life in the world into a nightmarish mirror of their own dark and grave laden existence.
Far from a united religion, there are really two different schools of philosophy split along Vampires, Liches and Mummies. The Vampires envision a massive fiefdom in which they are the aristocracy holding the lives of millions in their cold grasp. These vampires include the seductive and decadent Lahmians, the martial and honorable Blood Dragon knights, the scheming and oppressive Sylvanians and the deformed but arcane Necarchs. While the vampires need the living to survive, they certainly do not care for their subjects. Powerful Liches such as Nagash and the Mummy Lords such as Settra instead have no real use for the living except to convert them into undead slaves, a world shadowed in the cold and darkness of the tomb.

I like the first part. The second sounds too much of a wiki though imo. "Eternal Life" doesn't matter to sylvanians since they're agnostic.

I dont think you can be Agnostic per-say if you think your are a God...

And i guess you could call what the Von Carstiens had going a religion... they just didnt have time to codify the structures... Mannfred has it pretty settled

LOL:crazyeye:

You caught me I stole that straight from WIKIWARHAMMAPEDIA!

Seriously, I'll mention the fact that the Sylvanians just don't care enough to suscribe to the mumbojumbo. But I do think that there are two schools of thought when it comes to world domination via undeath. BUT you are the man with the plan and I will run the next version by you before posting.

thats wrong. Settra dosnt want the whole work to be undead, he longs to be human once more it is just unfortunate that his desire for immortality resuled in his ressurection as a mummy. also, khemri see nagash as their arch enemy, the bane of their existance. they despise him more than chaos. if the destruction of nagash was through following chaos they would do os, if the destruction of nagash ment the destruction of their empire they would do so. they are not evil, just an extremly misunderstood neutral civilization.

again, dont compare settra to nagash..

I respect your work PL but I am going to have to check you.

Whatever, they won't adopt religions in this mod. If you think agnostic is not a fitting term, that's an easy change.

It is a given that vampires are vain, they can be seen as a parody of aristocracy: they feed of the common man, but convince themselves they are doing the right thing (noblesse oblige).
Lying to oneself is one of the failings they have in common with their lifestock, who prefer to be loyal subjects. One of their most powerfull points is that although their vampire masters are excentric, their human counterparts can be far more cruel. And the concession must be made: while sinister and aloof, the counts generally do manage their people efficiently and with justice matching that of the Emperior counts. Nevertheless, in their arrogance they refuse be subserviant under any mortal ruler, causing strain on diplomatic relations that are a match for their innate charm.

Those undead sentients that have conciously chosen to become cursed with life eternal have a predisposition to the personlity disorder known as the superiority complex.

Khemrian nobles may have been cheated, fact remains that they were nobles that wanted to be alive once more. (and selfishly expected to rule when resurected)
When they were shortchanged by high priest Nagash and awakened not as living ruler but as undead carcass in competition for power with all those kings, princes and priests that were entombed by the cult of eternal life through the ages... little wonder the warring undead of Khemri hate Nagash with all the passion that remains in their desicated souls.
Considdered as soulless and without emotion, by many of the unenlightened, the expert rituals of preservation performed by the Khemri high priesthood have actually managed to preserve much of their human psyche. They remain remorsefull, sad and consumed by righteous fury. Frustrated by their cursed inability to shed a single tear, they envy the living and curse the architect of their undoing with every useless breath they take.

uhm i was going to make a point, but I forgot it through fluffy writing. :heh:

Exactly. i couldnt have said it better myself.

I don't think there's one for First Meeting With Sigmar so how's this:

"This is Ghal Maraz. As a hammer it can build bridges... or it can break skulls. What will it be?"

Its based loosely on what King Kurgan says to Sigmar in Heldenhammer about how a hammer can be used for building or war.

For First meeting Amazons:

"Hello, are you normal males, or will we talk first?" (Apologies for potential double meaning).

For Mysticism strategy (TXT_KEY_CIVIC_MYSTICISM_STRATEGY)

"'People are always easier to control when you give them something big to bow down before' - Empress Margarita when commissioning her statue" (Reference to Genevive Undead)

For First Contact Hobgobla Khan

"'You! You source Weapons?' *Evil Grin* 'Or you source slaves?"

For Brewing Tech Quote (TXT_KEY_TECH_BREWING_QUOTE)

"'Not Bad' - Highest praise from Dwarf" (that's a Gotrek and Felix reference)

OR

"'I would like a spot of Beer - MORE BEER!
Beer Goes very well with Beer - MORE BEER'
Dwarf Drinking song" (Actually from Fred Astair Movie)

For Agriculture Civic strategy (TXT_KEY_CIVIC_AGRICULTURE_STRATEGY)

"'Eat Eat Grain Grain, not me me'
Sqeelze the Skaven slave, as he successfully got himself off the main menu, but onto the desert menu"

To tame a animal is one thing, but to make it reproduce correctly, THATS hard! - Dan, Empire Horsebreeder

i like the Lore of Fire one there :) added to my post in the first page :) (just changed the 'desert slann' to Estilian Bright Mage (i plan to give lizardmen a penalty in deserts, so a Desert Slann dosnt make much sense ;) )

Monster breeding is already done:

Q-"Karond kar is the city of our beast masters. In it's stables, creatures are breed and hardened under the whip of their masters to serve our deeds." - Furion of Clar Karond

As is Invention:

Q -"The pilot, as they call the fool who flies the contraption, must be mad as a halfling to go up there, if'n you asks me. A Dwarf should have his feet on the ground or, more preferably, a hundred feet below it." Durgrim Redmane, Dwarf Hammerer

I should have mentioned the list of tech quote and ones we still need before. theyre [HERE]

but keep going :D its great to have more help :) ill add all these tech quotes in when i get the time.

about the desert lizardmen: I play Desert Lizardmen. Its kind of a long story about some lizardmen chasing chaos for so long they became afflicted themselves. (they got black skin, red scales, silver spikes and some other stuff i invented. (slann with horns =D)) so im sorry if i refer to them sometimes =P Theyre kinda a race for themselves. (when i play with me freinds we have actually made a deal about trading Aquatic for a similiar bonus in sand =P) so if i refer to them (wich i cant help doing), just think of it like a cult or somehting, a extra race. BUT thats enough about D.L.s! just wanted to explain =P
Edit: Kai Juan? XD

very cool concept :) but unfortunately cause its house rules and not cannon i dont think ill use it. :p

Very very nice :D i love the lizardman greetings, and the lores of magic.

also im assuming theres a big story behind Ankia and Kai Huan? :p i hope you dont mind if i change some of the people who said things?

EDIT: i dont really like the Master of Fire one though... its a little too specific to your houserules story. any chance you could try a more general one? something to do with Araby, Ind, Cathay or Nippon preferably (because those are the only civ which will use the Master of X techs)

What do you need when it comes to writing? Gimme a list please.
