So, Noob question.

Where are my XML Files.

According to Kael's guide, they are supposedly under Civ V > Assets.

I have no Assets under my install folder, I have cache, logs, Maps, etc.

It's a PC.
The game works fine.

What am I missing here. I can't find any such files anywhere in this install folder, or anywhere else?

Never mind, it seems I have a Civ V folder under steam, which has all of this, but somehow another Civ V folder under My programs, which has all my saves. I don't know why it's like that. But whatevs. Thanks to whomever would have pointed this out to me lol

Be careful, under the Steam => Civilization V folder you have the core game files, including XML.

Under the My Games/ Civilization 5 Folder you have your local game files. Including the MODS you'll want to play and write.

It is strongly advisable by everyone here not to change the original core files but make Mods to do your changes. It is a steep learning curve and you'll have to do a lot of reading from Tuts and posts to get some idea of what to do. Good luck. Also a Civ5 noobie.

Also notice that your Assets folder will, if you have and DLC/G&K Expansion include another subpath called Assets\DLC\Expansion\ which will lead to a new set of files relating to the expansion, including a subfolder Gameplay\XML including new XML files relating to new stuff from G&K plus anything else that was changed in the expansion - so make sure to look in the most recent file of the XML files, sometimes there will be out-dated XML-files lying around from the Vanilla game.
