XP 64 bug

I recently build a new computer with an AMD X2 3800 and a copy of Windows XP 64. When I play the game, none of the movies play for the different developers companies. When I get to the main screen, I seen the pretty earth graphics and the game title, but the light blue game menu with Single Player, etc doesn't show up.

Should I just install 32bit Windows and be done with it or is this a know XP64 problem with a easy workaround?

That part at least is fine on my XP64, it's most likely your graphics drivers that would cause that.

I am using the 81.85 drivers off the Nvidia website for XP64 and have a 6800 GT for a vid card. Are there better drivers to use ??

I can't use those due to major issues they have on dual cores, so I'm useing the older 78.03's. Could be worth trying them so as to narrow things down.

Sorry, but I must admit that I'm quite releaved knowing that xp64-technology systems have some problem with civ4... I feared Civ4 was optimized for xp64...
