Hey, finally got my copy to work again (solution was win98 in a virtual machine). A question that has always bugged me is, what does the yellow circle in the status window mean? I've seen two different versions of it and the only thing I can think of is that it shows up when pollution starts to become a problem...but I don't know the exact meaning of it.

Bellow are two screenshots I googled that have the different versions of the circle, shown to the right of the beaker for current tech research.

Correct.

It gets bigger as pollution gets worse.

And when it becomes brilliant white, you are in trouble.

I hope you have Settlers/Engineers handy to clean up the pollution, or some of that nice irrigated land will no longer be nice irrigated land... :nono:

Got Mass Transit yet? If not, you need it.

As already mentioned it is a visual indicator of accumulated pollution. It starts dark and small. As more pollution occurs and existing pollutions stays around, it gets brighter and larger.
