There's still a few great Civ 4 YouTubers posting really enjoyable stuff.
Let's limit this discussion to "regular" immortal/deity matches.

Perhaps this will help us find some new content to binge during the holidays :D

Merry Christmas everyone!

I struggle to watch others play, because I start disagreeing with them on t0 and wind up playing my own game.
It's harder to make a video than I expected though. I gave it a try and wound up playing even more slowly than I usually do for fear of making a dumb mistake. Then when I went to rewatch I learned that 5 mins into the video the quality had dropped to like 0.1 fps rendering it completely unwatchable lol.

Well, that's the price you pay for having a unique style and a stubborn character. :) But really, I'm a bit surprised if you disagree with Lain a lot. I do feel the same with most other player's videos, because the technical accuracy is so far below even my own. i.e. not the strategic choices, but doing things in sub-optimal ways.

I said nothing of the sort. I just have trouble actively watching, because I'll want to look at something and I can't. So the only videos I've managed to finish are ones I have like in the background, in which case I can't even notice technical accuracy.

Ok, misunderstood. Very interesting.

A long time ago, I'd watch TMIT play on YouTube and always appreciated the banter against the AI and RNG shenanigans. I currently watch Henrik, but I also really like Sullla's AI Survivor series. I hope he does it again!

Shame, because I really do enjoy watching Henrik's community multiplayer vs. AI games!

I am still a big fan of AZ's stuff because of his more rapid approach to the game makes it better for when I am not actively focusing on the video, and because he can do rather outlandish stuff (in one of his attempts at a more recent NC game on Deity he was still rocking Trebs+elephants against AIs with stuff like Rifles...I mean he didn't win but it was crazy to see what headway he did make!) I can't pull specific examples out as much, though he did an Axe rush with Gandhi in one game that was amazing.

For Lain it's a little easier, I like his less conventional games where he's not just cannoning and hopping landmasses the whole time. My two favorite examples:
#19 Lincoln
Spoiler :
Lain gets into a massive modern war and shows you can take down giants at high tech levels even on Deity

#28 Isabella
Spoiler :
Awesome example of a well-executed Cuirassier rush

Lain's Lincoln game was unreal. The starting position was so much dessert. I don't think I could have beaten that map on monarch.

I don't usually post, but I was going to mention that Lincoln game and was surprised someone else mentioned it.

This might be my first post actually. I've read the forums here for about a year. Hi everyone!! *waves*
